Decoding the Science Behind Indian Traditions




Indian culture stands as a priceless gem in the global mosaic. This very land has cultivated many sages who have kindled sophisticated practices in day-to-day life to uplift human existence. Have you ever noticed after waking up in the morning, some days feel exhaustive and others are lively? Did you ever wonder about the right direction of sleep? Yes, you heard it right, sleeping positions are likely to make you tired or refreshed.






Indian scripture called “The Mahabharata” mentions a passage where Krishna advises Yudhisthira to sleep with his head facing south. He says, "Sleep with your head facing south, for that is the direction of good fortune." This phrase is scientifically backed up where today we know Earth's magnetic field flows from south to north. By adhering to this practice, our ancestors may have unintentionally tapped into an understanding of the Earth's magnetic field and its influence on the human body.

We all have heard the saying “Early to bed early to rise“. Have you ever wondered about the science behind the same? Surya Siddhanta, an Indian scripture, says that Brahma Muhurta is the time between the end of the night and the beginning of dawn. It is a time of great peace and tranquillity when the mind is most clear and receptive.



Modern science has revealed that the Earth's electromagnetic frequency is calmer during this time, making it conducive to mental clarity and mindfulness. It's a testament to how ancient practices are attuned to the natural rhythms of the universe.
