American Chemical Society

Problem Statement

The American Chemical Society wanted to have a digital presence in the form of a microsite for their International Student Chapter at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. They wanted the website to showcase the importance of Student Chapters.

About

American Chemical Society is one of the world’s largest scientific organisations with more than 173,000 individuals in our global community across 140 countries. On a mission to advance the broader chemistry enterprise and its practitioners for the benefit of Earth and all its people. They envision is to improve people’s lives through the transforming power of chemistry.

Creative Process

For the American Chemical Society, we decided to give their student chapter microsite a global look and feel. We wanted to capture the essence of the organisation while appealing to the target audience- students. The microsite focused on giving insight into what life with the American Chemical Society looks like for students. We explored an illustration-based hero image to represent life with the American Chemical Society for students through the periodic table, DNA and equipment from a chemistry lab. We highlighted the offerings and the organisation’s mission to attract students to become a part of the American Chemical Society. For their next ask- event collateral that captures the offerings of the American Chemical Society we decided on designing a journal that would serve a dual purpose. We used divider pages to highlight the four unique offerings and the journal acted as useful event collateral to share with the attendees.
